Freyja works with young people, charities, activists and universities teaching biophilic design, functional scifi, optimism and practical design techniques.
We learn better when we use our senses by physically getting involved with what we are learning. Freyja loves to run hands on workshops to get students engaged with their subjects. Play and optimism and particularly important when dealing with serious and often overwhelming subjects like the climate crisis. Creativity thrives when we feel safe and able to experiment.

Biophilic
Design
Biophilic design uses a wealth of research to understand our inbuilt affinity to nature. Freyja offers practical tools for bring Biophilic harmony and benefits to any design intervention, for architecture to fashion to the digital realm. Help your students engage with this critical concept for the future.
Functional scifi
Fun Sci Fi intentionally harnesses the pattern of sci fi inspiring todays world. By allowing ourselves to imagine alternative future worlds and narratives we free our minds from the parameters and expand our creative horizons. What surprising solutions might your students find if free to dream of a better tomorrow?
Prototyping
With 10+ years in prototyping and making Freyja is knowledgeable on many techniques for getting ideas out of your students head and into the real world; paper forming, 3D printing, found materials and many other techniques for creating objects to explore, question and communicate concepts.
Forming with Felt
Since bringing the first felt pod to market in 2011 Freyja has built up a tool box of techniques for using felt to create any form. With over 10 years of experience she is an expert in 2D to 3D structures, felt types and material properties. Workshops can range from fun and accessible to expert level.

Freyja is a core member of the University of Arts London MA Co-Design for Sustainable Futures at London College of Communication. Freyja has tried and tested workshops ready to engage your students.
Freyja was asked to create workshop for guests at Mutek digital arts festival, Tokyo. She taught hands-on prototyping techniques to play with wearables and technology on the body.
Freyja ran workshops to engage guests at KI Furniture showroom. She taught simple felt forming techniques to drop by students using an example design of a felt container for a desk or other purpose.
Freyja designed a custom workshop for engage diverse community members of different ages and abilities. Members dropped in to learn a simple technique for turning trash to treasure in the form a modular paper concept to co-create a light feature that remained in the space.
